Portal Harmony: Emma: Projects
Portal Harmony is ETC pitch project of an animated music video using motion capture as a link between film and game, following the narrative of the song, “This Time” by local Pittsburgh band- Brightside.
The three-minute long animation will be constructed and rendered in Unreal Engine.
Our goal is to create a high-quality rendered animation within Unreal Engine and gain experience within the virtual production pipeline.

Technical Details
The Portal Harmony team looked into many motion capture alternatives and options for our project, and found the Perception Neuron 32 system to be the best choice.
The system is simply a suit you can strap on and wear like a backpack, which is much easier to use and less prone to wardrobe mistakes like reflective balls falling off the actor’s body when using traditional methods. The system also does not require giant dedicated spaces and complicated set-ups to work. If you have a laptop, you can use this system virtually anywhere.
